According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Barcelona is actively weighing up the possibility of pursuing Joao Cancelo, who is currently on Manchester City’s roster.
Cancelable is expected to make an exit from City this summer, following an official bid from the Saudi club Al-Hilal. Allegedly, negotiations involving Al-Hilal, Cancelo’s representatives, and Manchester City are ongoing.
Amidst these developments, Plettenberg suggests that Barcelona is unwavering in its pursuit of securing Cancelo’s services and is committed to exploring this option until the transfer deadline.
It’s worth noting that Cancelo, who spent the previous season on loan with Barcelona, showcased his skills in 42 matches across various competitions, bagging four goals and contributing five assists.
Although a move to Saudi Arabia could bring considerable financial benefits, Cancelo’s potential to contribute to a top European club is still widely recognized.
