Ever since Hansi Flick took the reigns at Barcelona, one of the most important players has been Pedri.

Across all competitions this season the Spanish international has played 28 games, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

Despite being one of the most important players for Barça since they signed him from Las Palmas in 2019 for a reported €23million, the Spanish international’s current deal expires in 2026, which could open the door for potential suitors to strike.

Due to this, the Blaugrana has been in conversation with the 22-year-old’s representatives in order to tie him down to a new deal.

Fortunately, it looks like Pedri has no plans to leave Barcelona anytime soon, as per his recent comments.

Speaking ahead of the Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid, via ManagingBarca, the midfielder gave an update on how talks between his camp and Barça are unfolding.

“My agents and the club tell me that everything is going well regarding my renewal. Right now I am focused on the final but people can rest easy.”

The 22-year-old is reportedly on a weekly salary of €180k, so any renewal seems set to make him join the likes of Raphinha and Jules Kounde as one of Barcelona’s top earners.
