Fiorentina’s sporting director Daniele Pradè revealed the reasons behind the unsuccessful transfer bid for Barcelona’s Vitor Roque during the recent summer window.
Roque, a sought-after player by multiple clubs, ended up signing with Real Betis through a complex two-year loan deal with a purchase option.
Pradè cited Barcelona’s steep demand of €40 million as the primary obstacle that prevented Fiorentina from completing the transfer, as it was deemed financially unsustainable for the Italian club.
“We tried to sign Vitor Roque but there were impossible conditions at that moment. Barça wanted €40m for Roque so… no chance.”
