Hansi Flick’s midfield has been a massive talking point this season, with multiple players excelling under the German coach. 

Pedri has been the standout and shouts for him being the best midfielder in the world are starting to be commonplace.

Despite the good performances, his inclusion of Frenkie de Jong has been questioned, mainly due to how good Marc Casado was before the Dutch international returned from injury.

Barcelona offer Frenkie de Jong renewal offer

Sport, cited by Managing Barca, have confirmed that Barcelona a renewal offer to De Jong and his team. 

It is stated that the club have sent a new three-year deal that will see the Dutchman earning the same wage as he does currently.

The 27-year-old is currently Barcelona’s second-highest earner behind Robert Lewandowski and is reportedly on around €365k per week. 

Barca reportedly want to get the deal done without any fuss, especially with Premier League sides like Arsenal and Liverpool closely monitoring the situation. 

Finally, it is stated that De Jong is very settled in the city and at the club, also, Flick’s confidence in him is also another reason why all parties want to get a new deal signed.
