Barcelona reveal star signing’s transfer fee

Dani Olmo’s accurate transfer fee has finally been revealed.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has released the financial specifics relating to the club’s signing of Dani Olmo in the recent summer transfer period.

Midfielder Olmo made a return to Barcelona earlier this year, completing a much-anticipated move back to the Catalan city after a prolonged transfer saga. His former team, RB Leipzig, decided to separate from their talented player in early August, meeting Olmo’s wish to go back to his home country.

Olmo quickly made a difference by scoring in all three of his initial games under the management of Hansi Flick. Regrettably, he has been sidelined by an injury but is anticipated to have a significant role for Barcelona after his recovery.

Fans of the Blaugrana will be eager to know the financial details of the club’s investment in Olmo. In his speech at Barcelona’s Ordinary General Assembly, Laporta discussed the club’s transfer activities during the summer.

Mundo Deportivo reported that Laporta disclosed Barcelona’s payment of €47 million, not including bonuses, to re-sign Olmo:

“We have maintained a cautious approach towards our expenditures.

Our sports director has performed admirably, with notable investments made in Olmo and Pau Víctor being the primary focus. The total investment amounts to approximately €50 million, with Olmo accounting for €47 million of the cost.”
