Barcelona were set to play Osasuna on March 8th at the Estadi Olímpic Lluis Companys.

Unfortunately, due to Barcelona’s doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia, passing away prior to the game it was cancelled and is now set to be rescheduled.

However, Hansi Flick’s Barca still remain in every competition and with that comes a very packed schedule.

A day after the game, it was reported that Barca were hoping to play the game on May 21st, three days before the final La Liga matchday.

The early suggestions are that Osasuna would be very against this idea and they believe it hinders them a lot more than the Blaugrana.

Helena Condis has now reported that Osassuna and the RFEF (Royal Spanish Football Federation) are proposing to reschedule the game for March 27th.

Furthermore, the article claims that Barcelona do not want to play on this date and are currently refusing the suggestion.

This is due to it being straight after an international break, meaning that Raphinha and Ronald Araujo would miss the game as they will be travelling back from South America.

Unfortunately, there are not many other dates for this game to be moved, due to Barcelona still competing in the Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League.

If Flick’s side were to be eliminated from the Copa del Rey then April 27th will most likely be when the game is rescheduled for.

However, if they get past Atletico Madrid and set up a final against Real Madrid or Real Sociedad then this date would be impossible.

Alternatively, if Barca were knocked out of the Champions League, there would be more midweek games to which the clash can be moved.

This dispute between Barcelona and the RFEF is just one of many between the two parties.

The Spanish Football Federation are still not happy with Dani Olmo and Pau Victor’s registration, which has caused a legal dispute that the Spanish courts are currently dealing with.

Hopefully, a solution that suits Osasuna and Barcelona can be reached to avoid further tensions.
