FC Barcelona find themselves in the middle of uncertainty in the midfield, as they have a young player managing a lingering injury going into a critical Clásico against Real Madrid on Sunday at Montjuic.

The young player missed the last La Liga match against Real Valladolid, and he did not participate in the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan, and is dealing with discomfort that has caused interruptions to their availability.

With the Catalans potentially looking to secure the La Liga title either in the clasico or subsequent derby against Espanyol on May 15, the injury comes at an inopportune time.

The medical staff with the Catalan club are closely observing his development, and there is no timeline for the player to make a full recovery, which evidently throws a grey area over his availability for the high-intensity clash.

The player in question is Pablo Torre, the 21-year-old midfielder who has a minor left knee injury that is causing concern.

According to Diario Sport, Torre, who was originally expected to play against Valladolid, has been managing a minor blow that came in training.

Torre was originally thought to be okay and ready to play, and while he has not been entirely ruled out of the Clasico, he is still a doubt.

Barcelona previously announced on Saturday that the injury was minor and that Torre’s return would depend on how he progressed.

Torre has only appeared in 14 games across all competitions, for a total of 421 minutes this season, though he has scored four goals and added three assists.

The last time Torre played was on March 30, and this injury interrupts his good momentum.

If Barcelona can get the title against Espanyol, in their last two league matches against Villarreal and Athletic Club, Torre may get a chance to regain match fitness.

For now, he is focused on just recovering with hopes that he can be available to add to the squad next week.
