Barcelona keeping an eye on Aston Villa forward

Barcelona have Aston Villa forward as an option for the long term replacement for Lewandowski.

Unai Emery is said to be open to the possibility of selling Jhon Duran, a move that could interest Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Barcelona.

A recent report from Give Me Sport suggests that despite his impressive performance at the beginning of the 2024/25 season, Duran’s future at Aston Villa is now in question. Emery’s willingness to entertain offers for the Colombian player has sparked interest from various clubs, notably Chelsea, Newcastle, and Barcelona.

Aston Villa is seeking to secure approximately £40 million for the South American forward in the upcoming year. Barcelona has expressed interest in acquiring Duran, as Hansi Flick views him as a promising future successor to Robert Lewandowski.

The Catalan club is reportedly capable of financing a £40 million agreement for Duran. Lewandowski has been a valuable contributor to the team, but as he approaches the twilight of his career, Duran has emerged as an appealing prospect for Barcelona.
