Nottingham Forest defender Murillo has reportedly caught the attention of both Barcelona and Real Madrid, according to Sport. The Catalan club has been tracking the 22-year-old since his time at Corinthians, prior to his €12 million transfer to Forest.
Barcelona had considered a move for Jonathan Tah in late August, but due to salary cap limitations, they couldn’t proceed; they had also explored a possible loan option for Murillo.
Barcelona remains closely interested in Murillo, valuing his strength, courage, composure on the ball, and ability to recover from errors. His versatility as a left-footed player who can cover at left-back adds to his appeal.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid has also taken a keen interest in Murillo, viewing him as one of the best defensive fits for their current needs. Juventus and Chelsea have already made initial inquiries about him as well.
Since his Premier League arrival 18 months ago, Murillo has made a significant impact, particularly noted for his impressive long-range goals last season.
Now playing under Nuno Espirito Santo, the Brazilian continues to shine in one of the league’s surprise teams this season. While Sport’s report doesn’t specify his price, it’s expected to be substantial given his form.
