Barcelona have been off to a solid start this season under Hansi Flick, with the squad showing flashes of cohesion and attacking flair that supporters have been craving.

The Catalan giants have already secured some vital victories in La Liga, and their Champions League campaign is beginning to take shape with competitive performances against Europe’s top sides.

New signings and returning stars have injected energy into the squad, with youngsters stepping up to make an impact alongside experienced campaigners.

Tactical adjustments by Flick have seen the team pressing higher and moving the ball quicker, which has created more goal-scoring opportunities and highlighted the attacking talent at his disposal.

Amid all this, attention has increasingly turned to individual contributors who are making a difference in key moments on the pitch.

One such player is Ferran Torres, whose performances have become a talking point for Barcelona supporters and the wider football community alike.

Torres scored twice in Barcelona’s win over Getafe at the weekend.

The former Manchester City starlet has started all but one of Barcelona’s six competitive matches this season, contributing four goals, making him the most productive Barca player in terms of scoring so far.

His early-season form has not only bolstered Barcelona’s attacking output but has also reignited discussions about his future at the club, with his current contract set to run until 2027.

Despite his strong start, MARCA reports that Barcelona have yet to begin discussions over a new deal for the Spanish international.

The club believes the timing is not yet right to open negotiations with Ferran Torres, as other contract renewals are considered more urgent.

Barcelona have been proactive in securing the future of key players, including Frenkie de Jong, while recent extensions for Raphinha and Jules Kounde—whose deals also run until 2027—illustrate the club’s strategic approach to player retention.

The focus for Barcelona is currently on extending the contracts of Eric Garcia, De Jong, and Andreas Christensen, all of whom are out of contract at the end of this season.

Given their significance to Flick’s tactical setup, the club cannot risk losing any of them on a free transfer.

Once these negotiations are concluded, Barcelona are expected to turn their attention to Ferran Torres, with talks anticipated to eventually secure the winger’s long-term future at Camp Nou.
