Barcelona have identified Rayo Vallecano defender Andrei Ratiu as a potential transfer target, according to Diario Sport, citing Marca.
The Catalan giants are prioritizing reinforcements at full-back for next season, with head coach Hansi Flick reportedly unsatisfied with the depth behind regular starters Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde.
As part of this effort, Ratiu has been added to a shortlist of candidates compiled by sporting director Deco and his team.
Ratiu, a 26-year-old Romanian international, made a strong impression at the European Championships last summer. Formerly with Villarreal, he has continued to excel for Rayo this season, solidifying his reputation as one of the club’s key players.
Barcelona, however, face competition for his signature from other top European clubs, including Serie A leaders Napoli. Ratiu’s contract reportedly includes a €25 million release clause, though this figure could be open to negotiation.
