The right-back market seems scarce, and there are not many options. Hansi Flick is keen to see the club move for a new right-back this summer.

Jules Kounde has been spectacular this season for the Spanish side and has become an undisputed starter in Hansi Flick’s system.

The option being considered is close to the Catalan club, and Rayo’s Romanian international, Andrei Ratiu, is a candidate.

Andrei Ratiu has had a stellar season at Vallecas and has attracted interest in recent months.

Barcelona Combats Rayo for Andrei Ratiu

Ratiu was a potential option for Aston Villa in the January winter window, as the English club were in search of a right back before they settled on Levante’s Andres Garcia.

Real Madrid is also considered the perfect right-back if they miss out on the free signing of Liverpool and England superstar Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

Barcelona have also considered bringing the right back in to compete against Jules Kounde for the right back position at the club. Rayo has set a minimum price of €10m.

Barcelona look to have faced stiff opposition in pursuing the player as Villarreal have now entered the race, as per El Periódico Mediterráneo.
