Barcelona did not want to sign Spurs star

Barcelona REJECTED the opportunity to sign Tottenham star, a scout has revealed.

A former scout for Barcelona has made a significant statement regarding Micky van de Ven’s impressive rise at Tottenham Hotspur. Bojan Krkic Sr., a former employee of Barcelona, shared that he advised the club to recruit Van de Ven when he was younger.

Krkic disclosed that Barcelona had an opportunity to purchase the defender for €3.5 million (£3 million), however, an agreement was not reached. During an interview with Carrusel Deportivo, he stated that he was faster than Mbappé.

I reached out to them and strongly advocated for him to be signed for €3.5 million (£2.9 million), but unfortunately, it did not come to fruition.

Krkic did not provide a specific timeframe for this proposal, but it probably occurred while Van de Ven was with FC Volendam in the Dutch second tier.

Barcelona may have viewed the fee for a player in that league as excessive at the time, but they are likely lamenting the missed opportunity in light of Van de Ven’s subsequent accomplishments.
