Earlier this week, Juventus sent a bit to Barcelona for club captain Ronald Araújo, which was swiftly rejected by the Blaugrana.
Reports were quick to mention that despite the bid being rejected, the 25-year-old defender was keen on a move due to him falling behind Pau Cubarsí and Iñigo Martínez in the pecking order.
Because of this insistence to leave, it has only accumulated more rumours surrounding his future, even bringing Premier League side Arsenal into the fray.
In a recent report from Fernando Polo of Mundo Deportivo, Araújo has apparently made it clear to Hansi Flick that he intends to leave the club this January.
Despite this clear intention from the Uruguayan, it is claimed that the German coach does not want to lose him as he is counting on him this campaign.
Even though Flick wants to keep the 25-year-old, retaining a player who wants to leave is not good for anyone.
Due to this, Juventus look set to return with a second bid, however, Barça still remain adamant they want around €70million for the centre-back.
However, news from Italy seems to indicate that the Bianconeri only want to pay close to €45million.
If Barcelona refuse to sell him this January then his price will only decrease further as Araújo’s contract ends in 2026, meaning this window could be the best time to maximise his value.
