Barcelona decide on next summer’s priority signing

Barcelona have already decided on their FIRST target signing for the summer of 2025.

Barcelona is planning to revisit their interest in Nico Williams next year, as the club is still committed to signing the Athletic Bilbao striker.

There was widespread expectation that the 22-year-old player, who played a key role in Spain’s victory at Euro 2024, would transfer to Barcelona during the last summer transfer window.

Despite Hansi Flick’s team allegedly activating Williams’ €58m (£49m) release clause, the striker decided to remain with his current club, turning down the opportunity to transfer to Barcelona.

SPORT reported that Barcelona is intending to make a renewed effort to acquire Williams in the year 2025. The forward is only planning to stay at San Mames for the rest of the current season and is not expected to renew his contract with Athletic Bilbao.

The chances of him leaving in the upcoming summer transfer window are higher due to this situation.

Barcelona is likely to be the favorite to secure his signature, despite strong interest from top Premier League teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United.
