It is not common in football for negotiations to take place between Barcelona and Real Madrid to transfer any of their players to the other side.

Many players would be an option for either club, but the awareness that the team’s best players could be targeted by either club if any move is struck.

In the absence of Marc Ter Stegen, Barcelona were tempted to make a move to inquire about Real Madrid’s Lunin until attention was moved to sign Tek, who is now in the best form of his life despite coming out of retirement to sign for the club.

Barcelona’s Potential Attempt to Sign Lunin

According to reports, Barcelona president Joan Laporta met with agent Jorge Mendes to discuss various significant topics, including a prospective deal for Real Madrid star Andriy Lunin.

According to Madrid source Defensa Central, Laporta has considered reigniting the transfer battle between the two teams.

During a meeting with Mendes to discuss Lamine Yamal’s potential new contract, Laporta inquired about the situation with goalie Lunin.

The Barcelona manager is aware that Lunin is keen to make a move this summer as he is fed up with filling in for Thibaut Courtois.

However, this transfer is highly unlikely to be completed. Mendes allegedly assured Laporta that Madrid “would never sell Lunin to Barcelona,” even though the Ukrainian is not one of the Bernabeu’s most prominent players.

Madrid intends to keep Lunin until Courtois, who is 32 years old, starts to decline. However, it is unknown whether Lunin will agree to this.

Lunin demonstrated his potential to flourish at the highest level by filling in for Courtois last season. He was expected to compete for a starting position this season but has only played nine games.
