Barcelona are in “advanced talks” to sign Leverkusen star

Barcelona are advancing on their FIRST signing for next summer.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have increasingly turned to the free-agent market in recent years, marking a shift from their earlier 21st-century transfer strategies.

One name attracting attention from Europe’s top clubs is Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, whose contract is set to expire next summer. Bayern Munich is also reportedly keen on signing the German international.

Tah has chosen not to extend his stay with Leverkusen, and according to El Chiringuito, Barcelona are making significant progress in their discussions to secure his signature.

The Blaugrana view Tah as an exceptional market opportunity and are determined to pursue his signing.

While Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have also been linked with Tah, this is the first instance of concrete negotiations being reported.

Interestingly, Barcelona’s Sporting Director Deco recently played down the club’s interest in the center-back. However, this would not be the first time a transfer unfolded contrary to public statements.

Tah, who has a variety of options on the table, is expected to wait until 2025 before making a final decision on his future.
