One of the discussions that will be had around Barcelona in the coming months will be whether Hansi Flick’s side needs a Robert Lewandowski successor.
The Polish international is flying this season, already amassing 30 goals and assists, but his age is something you cannot ignore.
Lewandowski turns 37-years-old this summer and his contract with the Blaugrana ends in 2026, meaning extending his deal is not a guarantee.
Due to this conundrum, Barca have been linked with plenty of forwards, including Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres.
Unfortunately for Deco, both players are on fire this campaign and it is expected that Isak will cost around £150million and Gyokeres around €75million.
However, Sport have added another name to the mix and linked the Catalonian side with Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian joined the Bianconeri in 2022 from Fiorentina and cost a staggering €83million, making him the fourth most expensive signing in the Serie A side’s history.
Whilst the 24-year-old has been a decent signing for Juve, he has not lit the world on fire like it was expected.
Due to this, it looks like the Italian outfit are going to cash in on him and there has been plenty of interest, with Mikel Arteta’s side exploring a six-month loan this January.
Sport claim Barcelona has been discussed with his agents and he is an option for the Spanish side, especially if he does not renew his contract.
So far this season, Vlahovic has scored 12 goals and got two assists in all competitions, which is solid but not the same dizzying heights Lewandowski is currently hitting.
With the 24-year-old’s contract expiring in 2026, he could be a good ‘cheaper’ option for the Blaugrana and if he can live up to his former expectations, the Serbian could become one of the best strikers in the world.
