Today was a great day for all of Barcelona, especially the players who after an electric start to the season have slowed down in recent weeks.
Despite most expecting it to be an even game, Barça played Carlo Ancelotti’s side off the park, beating them 5-2 with 10 men.
One player who really shone in the final was Robert Lewandowski, who scored a penalty and assisted Lamie Yamal’s opening goal.
Speaking after the game, the Polish international explained how much this win meant to the team: “It’s very important to be mentally strong. It doesn’t matter who we play against, we always want to win.
“We played well until December. During the break we analyzed all the bad things we did that month.”
Lewandowski also went on to explain how the team deserve to celebrate today’s result but focusing on future games is also just as important.
“We can celebrate today, but tomorrow we have to start preparing for our next match. We don’t have much time.
“In our heads we always want more. Today we’re very happy, but in three days we have another match.”
