Yesterday’s Laliga match between Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano did not fail to live up to the expectations of the footballing world.

The intense clash had football fans glued to their devices, anxiously awaiting the outcome with mixed expectations.

In what appeared to be a tense match, Pedri once again showed his undeniable quality after he bagged the Man of the Match (MOTM) award at full-time despite Lewy’s goal that gave the Catalan the crucial win.

After the match, Inigo Perez (Rayo Vallecano Coach) revealed that he had devised an anti-Pedri plan, but it had proved abortive.

He said: “For this match, we made a plan to stop Pedri. We tried to analyze how he plays and passes the ball. It makes me happy that he is getting continuity. He knows how to defend; he knows how to attack. It’s a joy to watch him play.”

Pedri, who had a bright early season at Barcelona, has faced many injury concerns, seeing him out on numerous occasions for some seasons.

This was reversed after Hansi Flick’s appointment in the summer of 2024. Pedri has now managed to play 36 matches in all competitions, having scored 4 goals and provided 6 assists.
