Barcelona are set to be without key midfielder for tonight’s game against Valencia.

Tonight’s game against Valencia is crucial for Hansi Flick’s Barcelona if they want to compete for the La Liga title this campaign.

Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Valladolid has meant that the Blaugrana are now 10 points behind Los Blancos.

With how Carlo Ancelotti’s side are performing in the league, ten points could be a gap too big to overcome.

Fortunately, Barca play one of the least in-form teams in Spain at the moment, Valencia, who are currently 19th with 16 points.

Even though this game should be a routine win, Flick is set to be without one of his most important players, Pedri.

The German coach did say that the Spaniard might not start due to unforeseen circumstances but that he should be with the team.

However, Mundo Deportivo have reported this morning that the 22-year-old midfielder is now set to miss out on the matchday squad entirely.

The Spanish midfielder has apparently indicated to staff that he is in no position to play tonight as he is suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting.

Pedri missing the game is a massive blow, but if Barça cannot beat Valencia without him then they probably do not deserve to win La Liga, unfortunately.
