Barcelona are making a list of forwards for 2025

Deco is working on a forward list of targets for next summer.

During Xavi Hernandez’s last months at Barcelona, a major point of disagreement was Robert Lewandowski. Xavi believed the team required a fresh number nine, however, Hansi Flick has revitalized the 36-year-old forward, who has delivered outstanding performances this season.

Sport reports that Lewandowski’s future with Barcelona will be calmly deliberated after this season. The striker is content in Catalonia and willing to take a substantial pay cut for a potential fifth season, despite his salary decreasing next year.

Even though President Joan Laporta had considered signing Erling Haaland, the plan has been put on hold because of Lewandowski’s performance. But Sporting Director Deco is still hesitant to depend only on Lewandowski.

He is considering the possibility of adding a striker to offer assistance and give Lewandowski a chance to take a break. Barcelona is interested in signing Lille’s Jonathan David, who will become a free agent in January.

This potential addition may decrease Pau Victor’s playing time, even though he had a strong preseason but played limited minutes.
