A La Masia graduate may leave in the summer, as he has been afforded little opportunity under new manager Hansi Flick.

The 26-year-old, who progressed through La Masia, finds himself as the third choice and has little chance of being on the first team.

He is now looking for a new project to kickstart his career.

As per reports from Fichajes, Sevilla has emerged as the favorite to get him on a free transfer.

The Andalusian club is looking to bolster its goalkeeping ranks by signing a young player with experience as part of a general squad overhaul.

The opportunity to join a competitive side like Sevilla could provide the perfect platform for the player to make himself a first-choice prospect again.

Celta Vigo, another interested party, reportedly lies behind in negotiations, though.

The player is Iñaki Peña.

He has been a Barcelona player his whole career and has not had a chance to play regularly this season, despite having a good start.

With his contract up in 2026, there is the possibility that the Catalan club may allow him to transfer on a free transfer in order to enable him to leave.

Inaki Peña is eager to find a club that guarantees him no playing time, and he finds Sevilla’s project the most interesting at this moment.

Both Sevilla and Inaki Peña’s representatives are said to be in discussions, and it’s also worth noting that, officially, there is no agreement yet.

If the move does happen, it would formally conclude Peña’s association with Barcelona and would begin a new chapter at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

Also, if Sevilla signed such a promising goalkeeper with La Liga experience, it may be a shrewd piece of business.
