Hansi Flick suggested on Friday that Eric García may take on a new position in his defensive tactics. In a media interview, Flick discussed his strategic intentions and hinted at a major change for García.
Flick mentioned that he is thinking about utilizing García as a permanent pivot player, a position typically held by Sergio Busquets.
He brought up Marc Casadó as a potential candidate for the role, emphasizing the importance of filling Busquets’ position with a suitable replacement. Flick showed faith in Casadó and García, stating that they grasp the preferred style of play.
While Garcia has mostly played as a center-back, Flick highlighted the importance of players being able to play in different positions, using Rapha’s flexibility as an example. He emphasized the significance of the team working together as a whole rather than focusing on individual responsibilities.
