Barcelona to begin negotiations with three players for renewal

Barcelona are set to start talks with three key players for a contract renewal.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed that the club is in talks to renew the contracts of Ronald Araujo, Pedri, and Frenkie de Jong.

Araujo, who entered into his existing contract in 2022, is bound by a four-year agreement.

Recent reports have suggested potential interest from Manchester United and Chelsea in acquiring his services in the Premier League.
Similarly, there have been rumors circulating about Frenkie de Jong potentially moving to the Premier League.

The current agreement of the Dutch midfielder with the club is set to last until 2026. Pedri, whose contract similarly stretches until 2026, has faced challenges with injuries but has been able to string together a series of matches this season, appearing in nine games across all competitions for Barcelona.

Laporta, speaking at FC Barcelona’s Ordinary General Assembly, disclosed that discussions are underway with the agents of Araujo, De Jong, and Pedri regarding new contracts:

“Negotiations are in progress regarding fresh contracts for Araujo, De Jong, and Pedri.”
