Ansu Fati has yet to impress Hansi Flick, although he was included in the match against Benfica today.

The La Masia graduate is still trying to catch up with his former self and has fallen far from Hansi Flick’s heart.

Ansu Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has conceded that the forward “needs to play” as he continues to fight for playing time at Barcelona.

The teenager was expecting another shot at the club this season under Hansi Flick but has gradually fallen out of favour and is now struggling to make the coach’s matchday squads.

Mendes met with Barcelona on Tuesday to discuss Lamine Yamal’s contract extension and was questioned by reporters afterward.

The report stated that he had not discussed Fati’s condition with the club but that Barcelona’s No. 10 must remain on the sidelines.

The super agent said: “We haven’t talked about Ansu Fati, but he’s a player who has shown his quality many times and now needs to play.”

Fati is unlikely to play much between now and the end of the season, so a summer exit is the best option for both sides.

According to recent speculation, Barcelona is looking to a Saudi or Qatari club to sign Fati. However, it’s unclear whether he’s interested in a move to the Middle East at this point in his career.
