The obvious spark in Hansi Flick’s Barcelona is their outstanding mentality in turning around situations in a game.

In the Copa del Rey first leg against Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, who were two goals down within the first ten minutes, equalized in a twinkling of the eyes and established a lead against the Madrid side club until unintentional mistakes from the defense caused an upset.

Over the last ten years in UCL competitions, the Catalan club has been a victim of circumstances, and the fans are aware of this situation and hope nothing out of the blue happens this time.

The Barcelona players must be alert to avoid committing mistakes and repeating Araujo’s situation. One player who would be on the lookout is Inigo Martinez.

Inigo Martinez Potential Suspension

With SL Benfica scheduled to visit the Montjuic Stadium to face the Catalan giants following the postponement of the game against CA Osasuna, this is Barça’s opportunity to present their strongest side. Despite having a slim 1-0 lead going into this game, Hansi Flick’s team cannot afford to get carried away.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Inigo Martinez is one yellow card away from facing suspension for Barcelona’s potential quarter-final clash due to the yellow card he received in Portugal for potential dissent.

Barcelona is already short on defenders since Pau Cubarsi received a red card during the first leg and cannot participate in the second leg. Martinez’s problem, on the other hand, may be much more acute now that his illness may prevent him from playing in the upcoming game.
