The Spanish club defeated the Canary Islands club Las Palmas to maintain their position in La Liga. Filled with exciting moments, Barcelona performed below expectations but still won the battle following second-half goals by Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres.
The Spanish giant was left without Inigo Martinez and replaced him with Eric Garcia, who performed beyond expectations but only managed to escape conceding a penalty before it was ruled out for an initial offside.
According to Diario AS, Inigo Martinez will be looking to make an expected return to the starting XI after he was rested for the clash against Las Palmas.
AS said, “The first change will come on the left side of the center of defense. Iñigo Martínez will regain his starting position after resting in Las Palmas.”
Inigo Martinez has been a surprise for the club. He has grown to become an essential part of Hansi Flick’s defensive line despite having a foot out of the club in the summer of 2024 until the German coach stepped in and stopped the operation, guaranteeing the Spaniard his significance to his team.
