Despite turning 18 on 22 January 2007, Pau Cubarsi has become an essential player for Barcelona since his debut last season.

During this period, Pau has established himself as an essential player for Barça and Spain and one of the best young defenders in the world.

During an interview with Diario Sport, the youngster talked about the philosophy of La Masia and how it has helped the youngsters blend in with the first team.

Cubarsi on the Effect of the La Masia Philosophy

Pau Cubarsi did not fail to talk about La Masia and how the academy has shaped his growth with the Catalan giants.

Pau Cubarsi, in the interview, said, “La Masia gives us the Barça philosophy, as I’ve always said, a unique philosophy—playing those matches against Espanyol, some tournaments against Madrid, and big teams. It gives you confidence and the style you bring to the pitch.”

The player was then asked about what he learned with the first team that wasn’t taught in the club’s academy.

The youngster added: “It doesn’t change much when you get to the first team. You don’t learn the Barça philosophy in the first team; you learn it in La Masia. That’s where they teach you everything, and up here, it’s about giving it your all, with all the desire in the world, and trying to do it with as much effort as you can.”

Pau Cubarsi has played 37 games in all competitions and has only managed to provide 3 assists. While this might not be an impressive stat, his defensive duties were vital to the team in the final stretch of the 2024/2025 season.
