Earlier this week, it was revealed that Neymar Jr had set his sights on returning to Barcelona next summer.
The Brazilian ended his contract with Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal early and has joined his boyhood club, Santos, on a six-month loan deal.
This unexpected report sent shockwaves through the Barca sphere, with questions about how the club could potentially facilitate a deal.
However, Fichajes have now claimed that the Blaugrana and the Brazilian’s team have already started talks about his return and the board are working to make this possibility a reality.
The report also states that Neymar is willing to make financial sacrifices to return to the Camp Nou, as his priority is to compete at the highest level before competing in the upcoming World Cup with Brazil.
Neymar’s desire is that he only wants to play for Barcelona again but he knows that the final decision will depend on the club’s sporting plan and financial situation.
Currently, it is reported that the 33-year-old is earning €2.5 million, translating to roughly €500,000 per month, at Santos, a salary that would be impossible for Barca to match.
If the Brazilian does truly want a return to Catalonia then his wage will have to come down by a significant amount, something that might not be viable for him on paper when it comes to making a decision.
