Heading into this season, most people surrounding Barcelona were not expecting too much transfer business.

So far this January, that has been the case, with the main news around potential signings coming in the form of a loan for Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.

However, Barça have now returned to the 1:1 rule and with Dani Olmo and Pau Victor both being registered, for the time being, it meaning there is an opportunity for the Blaugrana to spend some funds to improve Hansi Flick’s side.

To add some fuel to the fire, In a recent press conference, via Managing Barca, Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta made a huge statement with regards to the transfer window.

“We are finally back to the 1:1 rule, we can now sign players with normal process.

“We can now be able to register players like Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, and we will have our new stadium soon.”

Barcelona currently seems to be focusing on contracts as well, with Gavi, Pedri and Lamine Yamal all in discussions with the club about improved deals.

Sadly, it still feels fairly unlikely that any permanent signings will be made this January, however, anything is possible.
