Ronald Araújo has been subject to a lot of interest this summer and the main club that wants to sign him is Juventus.

The Serie A side have already had one bid rejected for the Uruguayan international and they are expected to continue their pursuit this transfer window.

However, the Bianconeri were handed a blow after Hansi Flick’s first-choice centre-back, Ińigo Martínez picked up an injury in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final.

Due to this, the 25-year-old Uruguayan had to replace him and with Martînez now being injured for up to five weeks, it might mean Araújo could choose to stay with this new promise of game time.

Despite this new stumbling block, according to Relevo Juve are still set to return to the table and improve their offer for the 25-year-old.

The report states that the new bid will be close to €50million, still a long way off Barça’s valuation, which is said to be around €70million.

Araújo has reportedly been very open about wanting to leave the Blaugrana, however, Flick still maintains that he has a place in the team.

Relevo also claims that the bid is expected at some point today and if it is Araújo’s wish to leave then Barça will stand in his way, although they will not sell him for a loss.
