After returning to the 1:1 rule recently, it has allowed Barcelona to discuss potential incomings this January transfer window.
However, it is still accepted that any transfers into the club would need to be offset by some outgoings.
With Ronald Araújo looking like the most likely player who will depart Barça this month, the club could afford a statement signing if they can get close to the €80million they value the Uruguayan at.
Now, in a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona’s forward shortlist, which includes four players, have been revealed.
Rafael Leao:
The first player on the list is AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, who has struggled for game time this season.
However, with his countryman Sérgio Conceição now taking charge of the Italian side, his minutes are expected to rise.
Due to this, as well as the Rossoneri still challenging on all fronts, it seems very unlikely a move this month would be viable.
Luis Diaz:
One player who has been linked with a move to Catalonia for some time is Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and with him reportedly refusing multiple contracts, a transfer could be on the cards.
Despite Deco being a big admirer of the Colombian, the Premier League side are arguably the best team in the world at the moment, topping their league table, as well as the Champions League table, signalling a move this window would be almost impossible.
Alexander Isak:
Another player that Barcelona really like is Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and with the Swedish international eager to play Champions League football, a transfer could be an option if the Magpies miss out this season.
Isak is seen as a perfect profile by Barça to replace the ageing Robert Lewandowski and with him having experience in La Liga at Real Sociedad, it could be a match made in heaven.
However, due to his current electric form, any potential transfer would be very costly, with reports in England claiming that Newcastle want £150million for the striker.
Marcus Rashford:
Now for the most realistic option, which is Manchester United’s out of favour Marcus Rashford.
The 27-year-old has been left out of Ruben Amorim’s plans since the coach joined the Premier League side and with reports recently linking him with a move away, Barcelona could be a perfect option.
Rashford, who can play on the left wing as well as up front could provide Hansi Flick’s side some much-needed squad depth this season.
Any deal for the English forward is expected to be a loan move, however, there is plenty of competition for his signature this month, with the likes of AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund all making enquiries.
