El Clásico is one of the biggest games, not just in Spain, but in world football and when it happens in a major cup final, the attraction of the fixture heightens ten-fold.

Heading into the game it is set to be a pretty even affair, however, going off league form, Madrid currently sit first in La Liga, whilst Hansi Flick’s side have dropped to third after an impressive start to the campaign.

The two European giants have already met each other in the league this season, with Barça destroying Carlo Ancelotti’s side 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Goals from Raphina, Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal helped the Catalonian side beat Los Blancos and the trio are all set to start the much-anticipated game.

However, Barcelona could be set to have a huge advantage in the final as Real are potentially facing a mini-injury crisis in midfield.

Aurélien Tchouaméni was forced off in the second half due to a head injury and is set to be assessed today, however, the French midfielder did seem confident he would be able to take part in the final.

Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde are also doubts for the game against Barcelona as both of them suffered muscle overloads in the semi-final versus Mallorca.

One player who is a major doubt is Madrid’s midfield maestro Luka Modrić, who has been struggling with an illness which sidelined him in the Super Cup semi-final.

These injuries and illnesses could play a huge part in the final and they are something that Flick will have to prepare for.
