Before December, it was looking very unlikely that Barcelona would be able to do any business this January transfer window.

However, due to La Liga confirming that Barça have returned back to the 1:1 rule, it has opened the door for Deco to improve Hansi Flick’s squad for the remainder of the season.

It is still unsure how much the Blaugrana will be able to spend but with the likes of Ansu Fati, Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araújo and Eric Garcia all potentially leaving, there could be plenty of funds for some major improvements.

The Premier League is always very active in the winter market and it seems like Barcelona are looking to take advantage.

According to Sport, Deco and his team have identified Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford as a target and it is a ‘real possibility’ that the signing could be completed.

The Spanish outlet also claims that the 27-year-old is open to joining Barcelona this month and in the past, the Manchester native has spoken very positively about Barça.

Speaking to the media in 2023, via ManagingBarca, after scoring a goal in a 2-2 draw against Barcelona, Rashford said the following he was proud to score at the Camp Nou.

“I’m proud to have joined the greats in scoring a goal at the iconic Camp Nou.”

Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed Barcelona’s interest in the forward but reiterated that it is for a loan deal and not a permanent transfer.

The Italian journalist also claimed that many other clubs are interested in his signature, including AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.

Even though Rashford has had a tough time since his new boss Ruben Amorim arrived at Man United, he no doubt has been a top-quality player in the past and he could help Hansi Flick when it comes to the lack of natural left-wingers at the club.
