Heading into next summer, there are plenty of positions that Barcelona and Hansi Flick could look to improve on.

The left-back role could use some reinforcements and Barça’s interest in Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies has signalled they are considering a potential deal for someone.

Left-wing is probably the most important role but rumours have been circling that the Blaugrana could enter the January window to strengthen that position.

Barcelona also need to consider the long-term future of the striker role, as Robert Lewandowski is not getting any younger and with his contract expiring in 2026, it would be very beneficial to bring in his successor sooner rather than later.

Numerous players have been linked with a move to Barça, however, the most consistent rumour has been around Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres.

The Swedish international has a staggering 31 goals and six assists for the Portuguese outfit this season.

However, according to SPORT, Sporting have valued the 26-year-old between €70-75million and any club interested will need to meet this price before they consider letting him leave next summer.

As well as Barcelona, other European giants such as Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool have all been linked with a move for the forward.

If the Catalonian side decides to shell out the large fee for Gyökeres’ then they will have to fend off plenty of other suitors.
