Hansi Flick has a huge hole in his squad at left wing, with Ferran Torres and Raphinha both regularly being used out of position to help fill the gaps.

However, Barcelona’s board look set to authorise a January signing for the left flank after the club returned to the 1:1 rule recently.

Due to this, Ansu Fati, who has only played 8 times in all competitions, with most of them coming from the bench, looks set to depart on loan this month.

The 22-year-old looked set to join Sevilla on a 6-month loan, however, due to Los Nervionenses being one of the main clubs opposing the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, Barça are refusing to do business with them for the foreseeable future.

Fortunately, it looks like more clubs are still interested in Fati, with Real Betis set to benefit from him not joining Sevilla.

Álex Mérida of El Correo has reported that Barcelona have offered the left winger to Betis and the club ‘look favourably on him’.

It is also claimed that Valencia and Girona are also competitors for his signature this January transfer window.

However, due to his high salary, around €6million net a year, it is expected that whatever club signs Fati will only cover around 20% of his wages with Barcelona covering the rest.

Barça and the player are hoping that he can show a similar vein of form that he did at Brighton before being injured so he can earn a permanent transfer next summer.

It seems likely that the club will cash in on the 22-year-old next summer so this loan move could be vital to attract suitors who can pay what the Blaugrana value him at.
