Robert Lewandowski’s future at Barcelona is a hot topic around the club currently. Even though he scored 25 goals in all competitions this season for Hansi Flick’s side, the current consensus amongst most fans is that a long-term replacement should be signed.

The Polish striker’s contract at the Spotify Camp Nou ends in 2026 and it seems unlikely that he will extend under the current circumstances.

Names such as Sporting’s Viktor Gyökeres and Tottenham’s Son Heung-min have been rumoured as potential signings in the striker role for next season.

Now, according to Sport journalist Toni Juanmartí, Aston Villa forward Jhon Durán can be added to the list of forwards the Blaugrana are interested in.

The report states that Deco met with the Colombian’s agent at the end of 2024 in Barcelona.

It is understood that this meeting was an informal one and served to make Duran’s team aware that Barça are actively monitoring the 21-year-old, as well as others.

Finally, Juanmartí claims that Duran himself would ‘love to be a Barça player one day.’

The Aston Villa forward is having a breakthrough season in the Premier League this campaign, scoring seven goals, with a large majority of them coming off the bench.

If Barcelona can pull this deal off then it would be a great addition to Flick’s squad, however, the fact Duran recently signed a new deal with Villa until 2030 would make it very difficult to get him for a reasonable price.
