Manchester United have made Barcelona defender their priority for next summer.

New Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim has reportedly identified Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen as his top target for the January transfer window.
Amorim, who recently replaced Erik ten Hag following United’s poor start to the season, is eager to bolster his squad after a frustrating 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town in his managerial debut.
Despite Ten Hag’s summer signings of Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt, Amorim remains unconvinced by his defensive options and is keen to strengthen the backline.
Spanish reports suggest Christensen, currently sidelined with an Achilles injury, is at the top of Amorim’s wishlist.
United’s plan is to sign the Dane on a free transfer, a move that would help ease Barcelona’s financial strain by offloading his high salary.
Although Christensen has been a key figure in Barça’s defense, his departure could be seen as a pragmatic choice for the Catalan club. Amorim, however, views his recovery period as an opportunity to integrate him into United’s system.
