Barcelona star admits that he is “playing through pain”.

Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has opened up this weekend about the ongoing challenges he faces when stepping onto the pitch.
The midfielder recently made his return following an extended period on the sidelines due to injury.
De Jong, 27, sustained an ankle injury in April that ruled him out of action for several months. This setback forced him to miss the European Championships, Barcelona’s pre-season preparations, and the opening stages of the current campaign.
After a longer-than-anticipated recovery process, the Dutchman finally marked his return to action in early October during Barcelona’s Champions League clash against Young Boys.
This past Saturday, De Jong also made his much-anticipated return to international football, starting in the Netherlands’ dominant Nations League victory over Hungary.
Speaking about his current condition, the former Ajax star admitted:
“I still experience pain when playing. I need to rebuild my confidence to execute certain movements on the field. While I don’t think it’s risky, it doesn’t feel the same as before. Hopefully, it will continue to improve from here.”
