Barcelona must address several contract issues, leading Sporting Director Deco to prioritize players with contracts expiring before 2026.
There is a shared understanding between him and Raphinha. According to SPORT, once Barcelona complete contract renewals for Pedri, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, and Frenkie de Jong,
Raphinha will be the next in line for a new deal. The Brazilian winger has three years left on his contract until 2027 but is open to extending his commitment to the club.
Some within the club were open to Raphinha leaving if a €100 million offer from Saudi Arabia materialized. The recent improvement in his performance has caused a shift in perceptions, with fewer people now thinking about his departure.
Negotiations for his contract extension could be quite interesting, given that Raphinha has not appointed a new agent since Deco, who played a key role in transferring him from Leeds United to Barcelona for €58 million, resigned as his representative to take on the role of the club’s Sporting Director.
Deco has been a strong advocate for Raphinha within the club for an extended period of time.
