Barcelona President Joan Laporta has continuously prioritized acquiring top-tier players to build momentum and compete for championships, and is currently targeting a new high-profile addition.
Erling Haaland, the Manchester City player, is once again a target for Barcelona, with Laporta keen on a second attempt.
Sport reports that Laporta has designated Haaland as his primary target for future recruitment. Nico Williams is currently being considered, pending agreement on his release clause and salary requirements.
However, Haaland is seen as the top choice to bolster the team’s roster. Laporta considers Haaland a crucial acquisition and plans to bring him to Barcelona in either 2025 or 2026 to facilitate the reopening of Camp Nou.
The club maintains a favorable connection with Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, which they believe will be beneficial to them. Despite exploring the possibility of signing Haaland in 2021, financial limitations hindered the endeavor.
