Real Madrid failed to acquire the services of Lionel Messi, one of football’s greatest talents.

The club’s pursuit of the emerging Messi, who had not yet fully realized his potential at Barcelona, has been extensively covered.

Recently, one of Messi’s former agents has confirmed Real Madrid’s interest in him when he was just 16 or 17 years old.

According to Horacio Gaggioli, Messi’s first agent, Real Madrid expressed interest in the player but Messi chose to remain at Barcelona.

Real Madrid recognized Messi’s exceptional talent and attempted to orchestrate a transfer akin to the high-profile move of Luis Figo.

Despite Real Madrid’s efforts, Messi was firm in his decision to stay at Barcelona, the club where he had developed both as a player and as an individual.
