Even though the midfield is an area of strength for Flick’s team, recent rumors suggest that they are showing unexpected interest in Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka.
Diario Sport reports that the 20-year-old midfielder has emerged as an unexpected target for Barcelona this summer due to his “dynamic” and “versatile” skills, making him an attractive option for strengthening their midfield.
Discussions have apparently taken place between the clubs and the player’s representatives to explore the possibility of a deal.
However, Barcelona will only proceed with the move if Flick explicitly requests additional reinforcements in midfield.
This summer, there were also rumors linking Chukwuemeka with a move to AC Milan, and it’s reported that his contract includes a €45 million release clause.
