Reports in the summer claimed Kimmich was uncertain over his continuity at the club after a revamp of those in charge of the running of the club took place. Yet to put pen to paper on a new deal, the German international is expected to be a free agent come the summer of 2025.

     Whilst those at Munich are not in favor of loosing a player of such importance, a sale seems the mostly likely option as Bayern could be  forced to negotiate a fee as oppose letting him go for free in the summer of 2025.

     FC Barcelona remains a long term admirer of the German international, previously linked to him back in the summer, Kimmich is seen by those in Barcelona as a successor to Sergio Busquets. The Catalan side has struggled to find the right balance in their midfielder throughout the course of the season and the arrival of Joshua Kimmich could well suit their needs. 
     However, the financial situation at Barcelona remains an obstacle to the club’s aim of going after the best talents across Europe. FC Barcelona have been forced to be constructive and intelligent in their dealings, the patient approach till the summer of 2025 looks to be the more likely outcome as the club is expected to be in a better financial state.
