A star forward from La Liga giant Barcelona selflessly agreed to take a pay cut this summer in order to help the club deal with its financial difficulties.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has identified Robert Lewandowski as the player in question. The talented striker has not only performed exceptionally well on the field but has also shown his commitment to the club in various other aspects.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Laporta commended the experienced striker and shared that Lewandowski had generously agreed to reduce his salary in order to aid Barcelona in adhering to financial rules and signing new recruits. Laporta stated:
‘Lewandowski should be acknowledged for his exceptional abilities. He has a strong dedication to the organization. He was informed about the financial changes required to comply with Fair Play standards, and he willingly agreed to lower his salary to help us.’
