Big chances are on the horizon at Barcelona next summer.
With Hansi Flick massively improving on the output that Xavi had with this current squad, the Barca board are expected to back the German coach.
Working alongside the Sporting Director Deco, the German coach has asked for a couple of forward options.
The player who seems most likely to join is Liverpool’s Luis Diaz.
Diaz, who looks set to depart Anfield next summer, has reportedly always ‘dreamt’ of playing for the Blaugrana.
Whilst a deal is set to cost the club around €70million, the Colombian’s profile is said to be a perfect match for what Flick wants on his left flank.
There has also been a lot of talk about a Robert Lewandowski successor.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak have both been two names heavily linked recently.
However, there has been another striker who was thought to be high up on Barcelona’s list of options, Viktor Gyokeres.
The Swedish striker has been linked with many clubs as he is expected to depart the Portuguese next window.
European giants such as Manchester United and Liverpool have also been linked with the former Brighton striker.
However, according to a report from Fichajes, Hansi Flick’s stance has now changed, essentially ruling out a move for the 26-year-old.
Even though the Swede has scored a staggering 40 goals this campaign, Flick is very happy with Lewandowski’s performances and he will only allow a striker to be signed as a backup option.
This is something that Gyokeres is very much against as whichever club he joins next he plans on being the star forward.
Sporting have set a price tag of around €60million for the striker, a fee which could be very feasible for the Blaugrana.
Despite his age, Lewandowski is still one of the best strikers in the world and hopefully, he can continue scoring for Barca next campaign.
