The constant battle between Barcelona and La Liga is becoming more fierce, and updates are being made on the issues. With the most recent unsettled issue being the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, Barcelona are optimistic that the ruling in April will be in their favour.

La Liga claimed the document was not sent in on time and also claimed that the VIP boxes deal at the new Spotify Camp Nou was complicated. At the same time, the Catalan club has maintained its stance that all documents were submitted on time.

After this, Barcelona took the matter to the Ministry of Sport, obtaining a temporary injunction to keep Olmo and Victor registered until their case was determined.

That lawsuit is expected to be resolved by early April at the latest. At this point, Barcelona may lose Olmo and Victor if the case goes against them.

Ahead of the April ruling, a shocking update from Catalunya Radio today claimed that the arch-rival club chief helped Barcelona obtain the temporary ruling.

Barcelona Received Help From Arch-rival

According to Catalunya Radio, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez assisted Barcelona in obtaining the injunction.

CR explained that Perez called the High Court of Sport and urged them to grant Barcelona’s injunction. This is the version of events supported by La Liga President Javier Tebas and other competition executives. They are sure that Perez’s involvement was critical to Barcelona’s ability to continue playing Olmo and Victor.

It is also worth noting that Perez and Barcelona President Joan Laporta maintain regular contact and a cordial relationship. The Real Madrid CEO also played a role in Laporta’s return to the Barcelona president, assisting him in obtaining the bank guarantee required for his board to be sworn in in 2021.

Many clubs were outraged by the decision to grant Barcelona the emergency injunction. Tebas also publicly stated that Real Madrid was not among them, throwing doubt on their actions.

It remains to be determined what the ruling will be in April. Will the Catalan club have a Spanish duo with them in the season’s final stretch, or will the verdict be against them?
