Barcelona might be having a busy summer after the end of the 2024/2025 season due to the performances of the players, which have begun to attract suitors from European elite clubs.

The sporting director of Barcelona would have been aware of this and moved ahead of time to secure the extension of essential players whose contract was to expire soon.

With Lamine Yamal and Inigo Martinez’s contract extension underway, all players are now tied with the club. Despite this step, some players would still be acquired; an example of such a player would be Fermín López Marín.

Chelsea Targets Barcelona Midfielder for Reinforcement

Fermín López Marín is a Spanish and Barcelona versatile player who fits more while playing in the middle of the park close to the striker.

The player has had moments this season after a shocking downgrade to his performance in the early stage. His performance towards the end of last season and throughout the Olympics had the fans expecting more from the midfielder under Hansi Flick, and his due performance has attracted suitors in the English Premier League.

According to sources, Premier League club Chelsea has made an ‘offer’ to FC Barcelona and ‘requested’ two players’ availability.

According to a Spanish newspaper, Chelsea is already making moves ahead of the summer, offering up to 60 million euros (£50 million) to Barcelona for Fermin Lopez.

The dynamic 21-year-old has five goals and five assists in 28 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions this season.

Maresca has set his sights on Lopez, but the attacking midfielder is seen as ‘untransferable’ and has already made it known that he does not wish to leave.
