On a thrilling night at the Olympic stadium, Barcelona hosted Atlético Madrid for the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final. The match had numerous breathtaking moments and was a goal feast, with both teams scoring four each. 

The football world kept anticipating the outcome from the first few seconds when Julian opened the scoring sheet to the last minutes. 

Frenkie de Jong said after the match, “It was a great game to watch; there were many goals. We played a great game; we must learn and keep going.”

Many football fans had mixed expectations as rivals to each club were watching to see the outcome of the crucial tie, and it didn’t fail to live up to expectations. 

Barcelona’s Semi-final Clash Audience Share of 27.5%

As reported yesterday, the match attendance stood at over 40,000 spectators despite being played at an odd time and on a work day. 

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona vs Atlético Madrid was the most-watched game in Spain since the start of 2025, having an audience share of 27.5%. 

With the tense match ending in a draw following the equalizer, there is much to battle for when Barcelona travels to Madrid on April 2 for the return leg of the semi-final. 

Despite being disappointed, Barcelona remain unbeaten since the start of the new year and would be looking to win the tie come April 2.
